Privacy Policy
Last updated 4 August 2026
Parexa Studios (ABN 27 424 748 059) — “Parexa”, “we”, “us”, “our” — is a Perth-based digital studio operated as a sole trader. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, how we handle it, and how you can access it, correct it or make a complaint. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
1. About this policy
This policy applies to parexa.com.au (the “site”) and to your dealings with us. We keep it plain-spoken on purpose. We commit to the Australian Privacy Principles regardless of whether the small-business exemption in the Privacy Act currently applies to us, and we review this policy as our services and the law change.
2. What personal information we collect
We collect only what we need. In practice that is:
- Information you give us. When you use our contact and booking form we collect your first name, last name, email address and the date and time you choose for a call. If you email us or engage us for a project, we collect whatever you choose to include in that correspondence or provide during the work.
- Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, our hosting provider records standard technical data such as your IP address, browser and device type, the referring page and the pages you request. This is used to keep the site running and secure.
- How you use the site. We record which pages are viewed, how far they are scrolled, which buttons are clicked, and whether the booking calendar was opened or completed. These events are grouped into a visit by a random id that is erased when you close the tab. If you interact with a form we record the names of the fields you touched, never what you typed. We use this only to improve the site, it is not linked to your identity, and you can switch it off — see the Cookie & Tracking Notice.
We do not collect sensitive information (as defined in the Privacy Act), and we ask that you don’t send it to us.
3. How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you — through the form, by email, or during a project — and automatically through our host’s server logs when you visit the site. Where it’s reasonable and practicable, we collect it directly from you.
4. Why we collect and use it
We use your personal information to:
- respond to your enquiry and schedule or confirm a call;
- provide, manage and improve our services;
- send you information you’ve asked us for;
- operate, maintain and secure the site;
- keep proper business records and meet our legal obligations.
5. Our anti-spam field
Our form includes a hidden field that people never see or fill in. If it is completed, we treat the submission as automated spam and discard it. It exists only to keep junk out — it doesn’t collect anything about you.
6. Who we share your information with
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the site and respond to you. They may handle your information only to perform their service for us:
| Provider | What they do | What they may handle |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Website hosting, content delivery, security, and cookieless page-view analytics | Technical data such as your IP address and server logs |
| Cal.com | The booking calendar embedded in our contact section — this is how calls are actually booked | Your name, email, timezone and chosen time, plus your IP address |
| Parexa Command | Our own analytics service, and the automation that receives form submissions | Which pages you viewed and what you clicked, grouped by a random session id. Form field names only — never their values |
| Google (Gmail / Workspace) | Email correspondence and, for bookings, calendar scheduling | Your name, email and message |
| Vercel | Hosts the three concept sites shown inside frames on our Work page | Your IP address, if those frames load |
| Fontshare & Google Fonts | Serve the site’s typefaces | Your IP address, when your browser loads a font |
We never sell your personal information, and we don’t disclose it for third-party advertising. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
7. Sending information overseas
Some of these providers store or process data on servers outside Australia (for example, in the United States). Where we disclose your information to an overseas recipient, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
8. How we store and protect it
All traffic to and from the site is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). The site is served with a strict Content-Security-Policy, HTTP Strict Transport Security and other protective headers, and we limit access to personal information to those who need it. We also publish a security contact for responsible vulnerability disclosure at /.well-known/security.txt. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.
9. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law — for example, to answer your enquiry, deliver a project and keep reasonable business records. When it’s no longer needed we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it. You can ask us to delete your enquiry data at any time.
10. Direct marketing
We may occasionally send you information about our services, but only where you’d reasonably expect it or you’ve asked us to. Any commercial electronic message we send will identify us and include a way to unsubscribe, consistent with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). You can opt out at any time by replying or emailing hello@parexa.com.au, and we’ll action it promptly.
12. Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it’s wrong or out of date. Email hello@parexa.com.au and we’ll respond within a reasonable time. There’s normally no charge. If we can’t give you access or make a correction, we’ll explain why in writing.
13. Complaints
If you think we’ve mishandled your personal information, please contact us first at hello@parexa.com.au so we can try to put it right. We’ll acknowledge your complaint and respond within a reasonable time.
If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC): oaic.gov.au, phone 1300 363 992, or GPO Box 5288, Sydney NSW 2001.
14. Data breaches
If a data breach involving your personal information is likely to result in serious harm, we will take the steps expected of us, including notifying you and, where required, the OAIC.
15. Children’s privacy
Our site and services are intended for businesses and adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with the “last updated” date at the top. Significant changes will be reflected here.
